There are several ways to get the Full Circle Notifier, depending on what platform you're using. There's a list below of some of the different ways of getting it.
If you're using Ubuntu, the easiest way to use Full Circle Notifier and keep up to date with it is to add our PPA. To
add it, open a terminal, and type the following:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:laurent-parenteau/full-circle-notifier sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install full-circle-notifier
Alternatively, you can install Full Circle Notifier graphically by doing the following:
- Open the Synaptic Package Manager from the Administration menu.
- Go to Settings->Repositories, and click on the Other software tab.
- Click add, and enter:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/laurent-parenteau/full-circle-notifier/ubuntu lucid mainThen click Add Source.
- Reload the list, and install the full-circle-notifier package.
If you're using Arch Linux, there's a package in AUR at http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=40227. If you have yaourt installed, use the following to install:
yaourt -S full-circle-notifier
Packages for Fedora are currently being worked on. For more information, or if you're willing to help package, see http://url.fullcirclemagazine.org/3ce532.
You can download the latest installer for Windows from our downloads page, click on the Full Circle Notifier <version> Setup.exe link. This should work with all versions of Windows from XP onwards.
Mac OS X
To install the notifier on OS X, first make sure you have Growl installed, then download the latest .dmg from our downloads page. You can then just click and drag the app into your Applications folder. This should work with Intel Macs running OS X 10.5 Leopard and above.
To get Full Circle Notifier on other platforms, you will need to compile from source. You can get the source code from http://bitbucket.org/mrmonday/full-circle-notifier/get/1.0-hat.tar.gz. Full Circle Notifier depends on the Qt and QJson packages, which can be found in most linux distributions, but should both work on all platforms supported by Qt. To compile:
qmake makeYou can then copy the binary fcnotifier to the relevant place in your path, and optionally install the files from the assets directory for menu entries. If you have any issues, let us know. If you can help package, see here.
